About the compound
TB-500 (10mg) — Research Peptide
TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 active fragment) at 10mg per vial provides researchers with a higher-dose format suitable for extended protocols, dose-escalation studies, and multi-arm experimental designs investigating Thymosin Beta-4 biology. TB-500 is the most widely used synthetic form in published Tβ4 research, selected for its stability, solubility, and consistency in biological activity across model systems.
Mechanism of Action
The primary mechanism of Thymosin Beta-4 is sequestration of G-actin (monomeric actin) via its LKKTET actin-binding motif. By binding G-actin, Tβ4 regulates the ratio of monomeric to filamentous actin in cells, with downstream consequences for lamellipodia formation and directed cell migration. Repair-competent cells — including fibroblasts, myoblasts, and endothelial progenitors — require controlled actin dynamics to migrate toward injury sites, and Tβ4/TB-500 facilitates this process.
Beyond actin sequestration, TB-500 activates integrin-linked kinase (ILK), a signal transducer that promotes cell survival, proliferation, and angiogenesis. ILK activation by Tβ4 has been linked to its cardiac progenitor mobilisation effects documented in the Bock-Marquette 2004 Nature study, one of the most cited papers in peptide-driven cardiac research.
